The process of administering your estate to establish what assets exist, finding who is entitled to what, gathering in the assets, settling any debts and distributing the proceeds is called Probate.

Coates Solicitors will advise on any settlement under the will. If the deceased is intestate i.e. has not written a will, we will advise of the way in which the law sets out who is entitled to a share in the estate.

In estates of a larger size we will communicate with the Inland Revenue to manage any payment of Inheritance Tax and completion of tax returns. We will then provide the personal representative with Estate Accounts to aid the distribution of the estate to those who are entitled to a share.
